Getting Started
Your First Login
When your workspace is set up, the administrator on your account receives a welcome email with a setup link. Click that link to set your password and log in for the first time. The link expires in 24 hours — if it has expired, use Forgot Password to get a new one.
Multiple Tenants
If your email address is associated with more than one organisation (for example, a consultant working across multiple dealer groups), you will see a workspace picker after entering your password. Select the workspace you want to enter. You can sign out and sign back in to switch workspaces.
Data Source
All vehicle registration data is sourced from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways's VAHAN portal — India's official vehicle registry. Data covers all 35 states and UTs, 1,400+ RTO offices, and 500+ manufacturers, from 2017 onwards. Data is refreshed periodically; the most recent year available is shown selected by default.
Roles & Permissions
Every user in a workspace is assigned one role. Roles control what they can see and do.
Full access. Can invite and manage team members, assign roles, and configure workspace settings. Typically the account owner or team lead.
Full read access to all analytics tabs. Cannot manage users or settings. Intended for data analysts and market researchers.
Same analytics access as Analyst. Designed for regional sales managers who track market performance by territory.
Read-only access to analytics dashboards. Cannot manage users or settings. Suitable for executives who need to review data without editing anything.

The Filter Bar
The filter bar sits above the main content area and applies to every analytics tab simultaneously. Changes to filters instantly refresh all charts on the active tab.
Year
Select a single registration year. Defaults to the most recent year in the database.
Clearing the year filter shows all-time aggregates across every year available.
Month
Multi-select. Filter to one or more specific months. Useful for comparing seasonal periods.
Leave blank to see the full year. All months are included by default.
Vehicle Class
Multi-select. Narrows all data to specific vehicle categories such as 2-Wheeler, EV, Commercial, etc.
Combining Vehicle Class with a Manufacturer filter shows segment-specific brand performance.
State
Filter all data to a single state. Once selected, the RTO filter becomes available.
RTO
Drill down to a specific Regional Transport Office within the selected state. Requires a state to be selected first.
RTO-level data is ideal for dealers who want to benchmark their local market.
Filter Cascade
Filters at the right of the chain depend on the ones before them. Clearing State automatically clears RTO.
Analytics Tabs
National Overview
The default landing tab. Shows headline KPIs (total registrations, states, manufacturers, year range), a year-on-year trend line, monthly distribution bar chart, vehicle class breakdown, and top 15 states by volume.
When to use: Use this as your daily briefing — a single-screen view of the entire Indian market.
State / RTO
Click any state from the National tab to drill into it, or use the State filter. Shows monthly trend, vehicle class breakdown, top manufacturers, and top RTOs for the selected state. Click any RTO to narrow further.
When to use: Ideal for regional sales managers who own specific states.
Vehicle Class
Breaks down the market by vehicle category. Shows which classes are growing or declining, their share of total registrations, and monthly patterns. Apply a state filter to see segment dynamics in your region.
When to use: Use to track EV adoption, commercial vehicle demand, or 2-wheeler trends over time.
Manufacturers
Shows market share rankings and monthly momentum for all manufacturers. Click a manufacturer to see their state-wise penetration, vehicle class mix, and trend data.
When to use: Competitive intelligence — track how Hero, Bajaj, Tata, etc. are gaining or losing share.
Geo Map
An interactive India choropleth showing registration density by state. Darker colour = higher volume. Hover states for details. Responds to all active filters.
When to use: Quick visual identification of high-density and emerging markets for territory planning.
Compare Tool
The Compare tab lets you place up to 4 states, manufacturers, or vehicle classes side by side.
Choosing What to Compare
Select a comparison dimension at the top: States, Manufacturers, or Vehicle Classes. Then pick up to 4 items from the list on the left, or use the quick-start buttons to auto-load the top performers.
Top 4 by volume
Loads the 4 highest-registration items instantly. Best starting point.
Fastest growing
Loads the 4 items with the highest year-on-year growth rate. Requires a year selected.
Context Filters
Context filters let you scope the comparison without changing the global filter bar. They are orthogonalto the items being compared — you never accidentally filter out what you're measuring.
| Comparing | Available context filters | Example question answered |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturers | State, RTO, Vehicle Class | Which brand is growing fastest for 2-wheelers in Maharashtra? |
| States | Vehicle Class, Manufacturer | How is Hero performing across UP, MH, and Karnataka? |
| Vehicle Classes | State, RTO, Manufacturer | What's the EV vs petrol 2-wheeler split in Pune (MH-12)? |
Reading the Results
KPI Cards — Each selected item gets a card showing total registrations, year-on-year % change (green = growth, red = decline), and market share as a percentage of the total for that dimension.
Volume Comparison bar — Side-by-side horizontal bars showing current year vs previous year per item. Instantly shows who grew and who shrunk.
Year-on-Year Trend — Multi-line chart spanning all available years. Shows long-term trajectory for each item.
Monthly Distribution — Shows seasonal patterns for the selected year. Useful for identifying peak registration months.
Table view — Toggle from Charts to Table for a sortable leaderboard with sparklines. Good for copy-pasting into reports.
Team Management
Available to Administrators only. Access via the Team item in the sidebar.
Inviting a Member
- Open the Team tab and scroll to the Invite a new member form at the bottom.
- Enter their work email address and select a role.
- Click Send Invite. The system emails them a setup link to set their password.
- The member appears in your team list with Active status once they complete setup.
The number of seats available is determined by your subscription plan. If the seat limit is reached, the invite button will indicate that you need to upgrade.
Managing Existing Members
Change role — Use the role dropdown in the member's row. Takes effect immediately on their next page load.
Suspend — Blocks login without deleting the account. Useful for temporary off-boarding (e.g., an employee on leave). A suspended member does not count against your active seat limit.
Reactivate — Restores access for a suspended member.
Remove — Permanently removes the member from your workspace. This cannot be undone. Their data and activity history is retained.
FAQ
How often is the data updated?
Registration data is refreshed periodically from the VAHAN portal. The latest available year is selected by default when you log in. There is no manual refresh — updates happen in the background.
Why does my state filter clear when I switch tabs?
It does not. Filters persist across all tabs for the duration of your session. If you are seeing unexpected results, check that the filter bar still shows your intended selection.
Can I export data to Excel or CSV?
Data export is on the roadmap. For now, the Table view in the Compare tab can be copied manually. Contact us if you need bulk data access.
My invite email never arrived. What should I do?
Check your spam or junk folder first. If it is not there, ask your Administrator to check the Team tab — if your status shows Active it means the link was used. If your status shows Pending, the Administrator can remove and re-invite you.
Can I be part of more than one workspace?
Yes. If your email address is added to multiple workspaces, you will see a workspace selector after entering your password at login. Your role may differ between workspaces.
What does "market share" mean in the Compare tool?
Market share is calculated as your item's registrations divided by the total registrations across the entire dimension (all states, all manufacturers, or all vehicle classes) — within the same context filters and year you have selected.
